The Potters Wheel Method Of Cake Making

Sometimes I come across videos that may be so amazing that even if it doesn’t exactly demonstrate step by step how to do something, it might plant the seed in your mind as to how to achieve something ever so slightly different. This is certainly one of those occasions.

Many of us have watched the movie “Ghost” with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore and loved the iconic scene where they are working the potters clay wheel together, in what is a truly memorable moment of cinematic fame. Anytime I ever watch one of those wheel’s being used by an expert, it always looks so effortless and easy, but having tried it on a number of occasions I can assure you it is anything but.

The cake decorators in this video use their very own potters wheel, but the simple twist is that they don’t put a single piece of clay anywhere near it. Instead, they use their skills and the potters wheel to first shape the cake and then give it the most magical mesmerising patterns you will ever witness on a cake. I don’t know if we have any clay experts in our audience who like to bake, but if we do then this may open up an entirely new career for you, and one thing is for certain the resulting product will be a lot tastier.
