The Simple Sturdy Shoe Rack Will Eliminate Mess In Your Hall Or Porch

As more and more people stop and think about what their dirty shoes are carrying into the house, the push to leave your shoes at the door is becoming much more the norm. However dependent on the number of people in your home, and the amount of shoes they have, this can lead to an untidy pile at the front door.

Whilst a shoe rack is the ideal solution, these aren’t cheap and many of them can be very fragile and easily broken. So if you have decided that your house needs a shoe rack and you are looking for a cheap and sturdy one then this little project might be right up your feet, I mean street 🙂 Watch the video and then let us know how you got on.

What you need:
PVC pipe
PVC glue
Clamps
Primer
Paint

How To:
Cut your PVC pipe into 10-inch lengths (you can also have this done in a hardware store if you’d rather not do it yourself). The amount of pipe you will need depends on how big you want your shoe rack to be. Arrange the pipe lengths so that they form a triangle shape, or whatever shape you want!

Use clamps to hold the pipe lengths in place in the arrangement you want. Then, use a pencil to mark where the pipes touch on both sides. Put on gloves, then paint glue onto the sides of the pipes where you have marked them. Line the pipes back up, and then put the clamps back on to hold the pipes together. The glue will dry fairly quickly.

Once the glue has dried, you can remove the clamps. Next, cover the shoe rack with primer. In the video, a spray primer is used, and this is probably the easiest option. You can then paint the shoe rack any color you wish! Again, use spray paint to keep things simple. Have fun and be creative! Once the paint dries, you’ll have an awesome shoe rack that will keep all of your shoes off the floor and out of the way.
