This Brilliant Tip Will Have You Stripping You Popcorn Ceiling Effortlessly In 10 Mins With No Mess

Back between the 1950’s and the early 1980’s popcorn ceilings were all the rage.β€Ž Tastes and fashions change as we all know and over time this interior design choice lost popularity due in no small doubt to the discovery that a lot of the early formulations of the paint contained white asbestos. The thing about asbestos is that when it is left alone and not disturbed it isn’t especially dangerous. What causes the health issues and what might put a lot of people off is the removal of the paint, the health risks and of course, the mess caused by this process. Some people have consequently chosen to just leave it in place and adopt an “if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it mentality”

But when you consider the last time that style was in vogue was approaching forty years ago, sometimes you have to bite the bullet and get on with things. And what is even more annoying is once you watch this video tip, it is more than likely you will be able to strip that ceiling of yours in around ten minutes, without any mess whatsoever. The only thing that will annoy you is how long you waited to do it in the first instance.

The tools required for this job are not even difficult to obtain, in fact, I would be pretty surprised if you didn’t have then in your house already. β€ŽAll you need is some water, a six-inch spackle knife, some duct tape and a vacuum cleaner. You attach the knife to the bottom of your vacuum tube with the duct tape. Then you spray the ceiling with the water and leave it for a few minutes to soak in. And finally you scrape the paint off the ceiling with the knife whilst the vacuum is turned on. As the paint drops the vacuum sucks it straight up, meaning there is no mess to clean up. Watch the video to see for yourself just how simple this job truly is.
