It never ceases to amaze me, when government agencies have these wonderful ideas, implement them and then never bother to tell anyone what things actually mean. This is yet another good example of that, the stickers that are applied to fruit. First of all, an interesting little snippet of useless information for you, those stickers whilst not being particularly tasty I don’t imagine are actually 100 percent edible.
If you have ever closely examined the stickers you will notice they all have four or five digit codes on them. And each of those codes actually means something, provided of course that you have the understanding to decode them, something I doubt few people actually do. But upon reading this article and watching the video, you will join the elite few with that knowledge and expertise.
A four digit code starting with a three or a four means that this produce has been conventionally grown and therefore may well contain pesticides. A five digit code which starts with the number 9 means that this product was grown organically, and finally, a five digit code beginning with an 8 means you are holding a genetically modified product. So now you understand the codes you can make better buying decisions. Watch the video below, for an in-depth explanation.
