From around the age of 12 until we hit menopause women have to deal with our monthly visitor. And one of the considerations we have to deal with is what method of sanitary protection we are going to use. If you watch the various television adverts you would believe that provided you are wearing a tampon you can do anything your heart desires, heck you could climb Mount Everest if you believed what they told you.
But oftentimes it is what they don’t tell you that is actually more important. As many of you will be aware leaving a tampon in place for too long can heighten the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome, which can be very dangerous to your health but what I learned from the video below is even more shocking, almost to the point of ridiculousness. The manufacturers of tampons want to present them when you first open the packet as being ultra hygienic.
And people believe that the brighter and whiter a product is the more clean and hygienic is it. So the manufacturers solution to this is to bleach the tampons. Yeah, I was shocked as well, so now you are inserting a product into your most intimate area that has been in contact with bleach. I personally am still in shock.
