This is the Disturbing Secret Costco Doesn’t Want you To Know About Their Eggs

Many people shop at Costco, not only because of the low prices when you buy in bulk, but because they have portrayed themselves as being a company who cares. One of the ways in which they have done so is claiming that the eggs they offer come from cage free chickens. There is even a picture on their egg cartons, showing chickens happily roaming free in a field of grass, but is that the way it really is?

Recently, the Humane Society has performed an undercover operation to see the actual conditions of where Costco gets their eggs. The results are appalling, to say the least. The birds were packet into wire bottom cages so tightly they were unable to reach their food and water. Many couldn’t even spread their wings. When a chicken died, it would stay in the cage for days, while other chickens laid their eggs on it.

These conditions are fairly common but the fact that Costco was trying to fool you into thinking they were “different” is unacceptable. The video below shows more of what really goes on behind the scenes and, quite honestly, it is an eye-opener.
