You Won’t Ever Bite The Skin Around Your Nails Once You Discover This

If you were to ask a lot of ladies what is the worst habit of their partner, I would be willing to bet that quite a few would mention biting their nails. And yet personally one of the things that worries me more personally is my friends who bite the skin surrounding their nails. Physically damaging your skin surely cannot be healthy for you, and so I did some research on this filthy habit. What I discovered shocked me, and I am pretty certain, it will you as well, once you discover the full gruesome realities of this habit.

The medical name for this condition or habit is called “Dermatophagia”. There is a link to OCD for people that bite their skin, but much more concerning is the problems that biting around your nails can cause.

First and foremost you are opening your body up to infection, and furthermore, if your skin is infected and you then continue to bite it, you are potentially consuming that infection directly into your system. And because of embarrassment, medical help is seldom sought until the situation has well and truly gotten out of control.
