Dye Your Easter Eggs With Silk

Kendra starts with fresh unboiled eggs and shows us how to dye Easter eggs in a way learned from our great grandmothers. She uses silk scarves or ties that she bought at a thrift store.

She cuts them into small pieces, then wraps the eggs in the silk with an outer layer of white fabric twisted together. Next she boils the eggs in water (with added vinegar) for 15 minutes. After cooling, the pattern on the silk transfers to the eggs which look so beautiful now!
