Soften Butter but Don’t Melt It!

I absolutely love baking things in the kitchen, but there are a few things that tend to be frustrating. One problem that consistently happens is that the recipe calls for soft butter, and I forget to put the butter out in advance. Oh sure, you could microwave it but you are going to melt it, not soften it!

One of the old methods for softening butter was to cut it into small pieces but there is a much easier way to do it. Simply follow the instructions on this video and within a few seconds, you can have perfectly soft butter, ready to mix into your recipe.
