You see the reason for this is the build up of dirt and old soap powder over time. This then starts naturally enough to smell, not particularly nice it has to be said. Now the rubber seal around the washer door, is relatively easy to clean, but for the ordinary person, being able to access the rest of the washing machine requires an expensive call out. All you need is Clorox bleach and 16 ounces of white vinegar. First off, don’t ever use these two chemicals together because they are incredibly poisonous and toxic.

Start off by mixing the bleach with an equivalent amount of warm water. Wipe down all the accessible areas with a cloth soaked in the powerful mixture (including under the rubber seals). For any hard to reach areas, just leave the soaked rag on the part for about 30 minutes so that the bleach can destroy any mildew. Once u finish scrubbing the machine, run it on the hottest cycle without any clothes in order to wash out the bleach.
