Recycling has become the buzzword of recent years, but what a lot of people don’t know is that there are actually two subsections within the recycling world. There is upcycling and downcycling
Upcycling is much more desirable and is the concept of utilising old but importantly cheap products and making a more valuable final product. Downsizing is when you reuse valuable products to make a cheaper end product. Hopefully, that explains why wherever possible we aways want to be upcycling.
This video is a perfect example of upcycling and when you watch it I hope it gives you an idea and inspiration to do some upcycling of your own. In the video below, the lady starts off with an old wooden door and sands it down. Then with nothing more than some new paint, a bit of elbow grease and some material and before your very eyes she turns the old door into a delightful headboard. The end product is simply stunning and when you consider how much it cost to produce you are certainly getting a huge bang for your buck. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments, personally, I just need to locate an old door so I can get started.
